Chris,

The Trump/Pence regime suppresses the science that doesn't fit its religious, political and economic agenda, forcing present and future generations to pay a terrible price while causing disaster for the world's ecosystems.

In less than 100 days this truth-despising and climate change-denying regime has: defunded the EPA and the Parks Department, refused to appoint a science advisor, vowed to repeal carbon dioxide emission limits on power plants while pledging to do away with fuel economy standards, abolished oversight of how federal projects may contribute to climate change, and cut funding for scientific and public health institutions (with the exceptions of those related to “defense”). This regime's appointments themselves are a condemnation of science. Look at Scott Pruitt who aims to dismantle the EPA which he leads and who disregards scientific data – ranging from the effect of pesticides to carbon dioxide as the leading cause of climate change.

We must act to protect and preserve the world's fast-vanishing natural ecosystems and stem climate change catastrophe. If not, this planet could very well become uninhabitable for billions of people, and possibly all of humanity, as well as for most of the world's flora and fauna. The Pentagon is the world's biggest single user of fossil fuel, using it for illegitimate wars to maintain and expand the US empire. Oil is a strategic resource and the US government acts to control it at all costs, including the planet's very viability.

Join us in saying NO to the Trump/Pence regime's attacks on science, truth and reason. This regime's attacks on science are part of its consolidation of a fascist USA. Trump’s finger on the nuclear trigger is a grave threat to humanity and the planet itself. Put humanity and the planet first – join in driving out this fascist regime. Be in the streets and bring your friends to the March for Science and the Peoples Climate March. Bring World Can't Wait signs and posters (http://org.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=eTMvvuFPpRoEWM3wwyPx6FHu0vsCYyeV) and join the Refuse Fascism contingents (http://org.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=C4ugO3CKXt967xt6tSqkzFHu0vsCYyeV) because the world truly can't wait. If there isn't a Refuse Fascism bus from your area, check here with the Peoples Climate Movement (http://org.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=Ge8P4UDnBepObhdPXeYPs1Hu0vsCYyeV) for buses and other transportation options where you live. There are many ways to make it to DC for these crucial marches. However, see the Refuse Fascism sister marches (http://org.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=MhCRqe3TwZKCutyCc3QOtVHu0vsCYyeV) in other cities and Peoples Climite Movement sister marches in additional towns and cities here (http://org.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=bEUYFywS6zw5LR3S1MhJ8lHu0vsCYyeV).

March for Science Chicago

An estimated 40,000 scientists and their supporters took over Grant Park to participate in the Chicago version of the world-wide March for Science. The April 22, 2017 event was historic. It was a commanding response to the cuts, now accelerating under Trump, in peaceful scientific research and funding in many disciplines. Included are interviews of march leaders and participants, plus a smorgasbord of thought-provoking signs and the paleontological Jabberwocky Marionettes. The event was clearly a watershed in the ongoing battle for a planet where decisions are based on confidence in the scientific method and are directed toward the general good.

Let Sarah Teach

Sarah Chambers, acclaimed and popular special education teacher, was suspended from teaching by Chicago Public Schools — for unspecified reasons. But over 100 of her supporters at a rally on April 18, 2017 have a theory: she is a strong critic of the school board’s corruption. Also can be viewed at: https://youtu.be/craBJK40j-Q
