Protect Youth of Color Event In DC: Saturday, April 8th
Dear Friends,
Thank you for signing Take the Pledge: Protect Black Girls. We have recieved over 25,000 signatures of supporters who are committed to protect our children.
This issue means a lot to me and the youth in both Black Swan Academy and Melanin Uprising. I'm emailing you to ask you to go one step further and share our upcoming event in Washington D.C. - listed below- to youth of color between the ages of 13-25 years old. We have always believed in fostering environments where our youth can lead, take action and be socially and emotionally supported.
On April 8th (1p-3p) we are joining forces with the community to convene a safe space for DC youth of color to 1. access information about our missing youth 2. Discuss action steps they'd like to take to FIND missing Black girls but also PROTECT Black girls and youth from harm in and outside of their homes. 3. Share what support they need to make their vision a reality.
Please share with the youth in your life and encourage them to attend.
Melanin Uprising and Black Swan Academy Present:
#MISSINGDCGIRLS: A Conversation With Youth Of Color
April 8th 1pm-3pm
4020 Minnesota Ave NE (Community Room)

Posting something on facebook or twitter will only take a second, but will mean that hundreds of youth see the event and can join our movement.
Real change happens when everyday people like you and I take a stand for what we believe in.
Thank you for standing with me on this issue.
