Stop this rogue Sheriff from turning his deputies into Immigration agents!
Dear Chris,
Milwaukee County Sheriff Clarke has said that he intends to enroll his department in the 287g program1, which would have his officers deputized to act as immigration agents.
Will you sign the petition supporting our friends at Voces de la Frontera in their fight to stop Sheriff Clarke from bringing 287g to Milwaukee? (https://act.presente.org/go/2338?t=1&akid=1581.523110.m5uKMj)

287g is a totally discredited program that has been found to promote racial profiling and violations of the right to due process and freedom from unlawful detention. Communities that enrolled in the program, like Joe Arpaio’s Maricopa County, Arizona, have wasted millions defending themselves in civil rights lawsuits2, while serious crimes have gone ignored.
Sheriff Clarke has made himself a national ally of Trump and an enemy of civil rights for people of color. He has compared the Black Lives Matter movement to ISIS3 and called for violence against protesters at Trump rallies.
And all the while, four people have died in his jail over the past year, including a newborn baby.4
