Yeah, you can point out limits to his critique of systemic oppression. That's typical for "mainstream" figures who aren't exactly on society's margins (out of the spotlight). Regardless, he articulated his position well.
I think it would be hypocritical of me to vote. I said from the beginning I was against oppression, I was against the system of oppression. I'm not going to show support for that system...There’s more than one way to create change.
Am I saying Kaepernick is some groundbreaking revolutionary figure, you ask? Um, no, you fool. However, a figure of some influence making a valid point about tactics for effecting political change could present an opportunity for very public dialogue about alternatives.
