As all of you must know, election day is coming soon, and the majority of Americans are going out to vote for either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton. My question is, as leftists, should we participate in this election? And if so, who should we vote for? If we shouldn't vote, why not?

Should revolutionary leftist USA citizens vote? (Spoiler: no way) This election is deeply fucked up. If you are going to vote to one of the candidates and have your reasons, still cosnider the following: it will be really bad either way. Not just for the USA, but for the rest of the world, too, because the US still has a major impact on politics worldwide. Maybe some leftists over there vote for Clinton, and they can have their reasons. For example, a Trump presidency would surely screw over lgbtq people and minorities, especially immigrants pretty bad. It would be even worse for them than now. So I guess one could vote for Clinton as a measure of domestic harm reduction. But then there's what Clinton would do regarding foreign affairs (not that Trump would be better regarding this). And consider that nothing would really change. It would be just postponing an inevitable social and political catastrophe that the US is currently heading to.
And the reasons to vote for Trump? Well, apart from accelerationism, I don't really see any.
That being said, if I were a US citizen, I would abstain from voting and make my way to Standing Rock or one of the local anti-DAPL protests instead if I had the chance and the means to go there. In the current situation, it would be a much more valuable political activity than voting.
