Maybe wrong section but are there still any Afghanistanis left who support the idea of communism and a socialist state? Like what ever happened to all the members of the old socialist government?

I've just been recently looking at how beautiful Afghanistan was under Soviet leadership. And lamenting how devastated it is due to religion and capitalism... :(

Anyone know what percent of the Afghani population supported and opposed the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan? Like what should the Soviets and Socialist Afghanis have done differently to avert losing?

Like what ever happened to all the members of the old socialist government? There's the Communist (Maoist) Party of Afghanistan (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communist_%28Maoist%29_Party_of_Afghanistan). The CmPA is supposedly one largest secular orgs in Afghanistan, but there's not much in English about it.It's not connected to the PDPA, in fact it's precuror orgs were bitter enemies with the PDPA. The PDPA assassinated one of the leaders of the earlier Maoist movement, Akram Yari (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akram_Yari).

As for the PDPA, they dropped Marxism after the Soviets withdrew. Most the ex-members seem to be either warlords like Abdul Rashid Dostum or re-branded social democrats.
I've just been recently looking at how beautiful Afghanistan was under Soviet leadership. And lamenting how devastated it is due to religion and capitalism... :( I'm not sure it was so much that the Soviets were so great(they were kind of fucked up) as what came after was that bad(the Soviets built factories whereas the US can barely build schools and promotes feudal customs).
Anyone know what percent of the Afghani population supported and opposed the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan? Like what should the Soviets and Socialist Afghanis have done differently to avert losing? The Democratic Republic of Afghanistan was able to hold out for 3 years after the Soviet withdraw and the PDPA did have tens of thousands of members, so it must have had some popular support. What really fucked them was Yeltsin cutting off their oil.

I don't know too much about the afghani socialist thingy, but I do know that the majority of Afghans hated it, but then again with their Islamic culture it isn't suprising. Also I think the soviet's war there was imperialism, if it was going to fall then it was going to fall. It was the people's choice. Communism needs to come through the people.

Afghanistan has a massive ISI backed terrorism campaign that continues to haunt innumerable.Communism can't entrench itself firmly under such turbulent circumstances Purely my sole views.

Till Pakistan continues to spearhead Afghanistani terrorism !! impossible
