Victory for women in Poland!

Center for Reproductive Rights - ReproductiveRights.org

This week something incredible happened. Nearly six million women in Poland went on strike, outraged by a proposal that would completely ban abortion—and punish women who end a pregnancy with up to five years in prison.

Chris—Polish women won the day. Lawmakers shut the bill down this morning. As one conservative politician put it, the protest “taught us humility.”

Give a gift today in honor of Polish women’s courage and their inspiring victory. Your support will help us build on this week's momentum—and tear down restrictive abortion laws around the world.

Give today

We celebrate this win, but also recognize the major obstacles to abortion services that remain for women in Poland. Current law still bans abortion except in very limited cases, and lawmakers are already working on new ways to roll back reproductive rights.

Your donation enables us keep up the fight in Poland—and will help us remove restrictive abortion laws around the world.

The Center will keep challenging the restrictive law in Poland, even after this week’s headlines fade. We've worked with Polish activists for decades and already won two cases on behalf of Polish women denied abortion care. Next month, we're asking the United Nations to condemn Poland’s harsh law.

We’ll continue to challenge abortion bans in Ireland, the Philippines, and El Salvador—where women can go to jail for having an abortion. But we need your help.

Join us in the global movement for reproductive rights with a gift today.

In solidarity,

Nancy
