Please join us in the Chicago area to protest RE/MAX's involvement with illegal Israeli settlements. Ariel, our national BDS campaigner, will be in Chicago from September 9-13. She will be joining local activists outside RE/MAX offices to protest the sale of homes on stolen Palestinian land. See below for full details about when and where the actions will be happening!
Denver-based RE/MAX International is continuing to allow its franchisee, RE/MAX Israel, to sell rent, and advertise properties in illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank. Agents from RE/MAX Israel do business in all the major West Bank settlements, including those in Occupied East Jerusalem, in violation of international law.
In June 2016 in anticipation of a resolution by the Presbyterian Church General Assembly calling on RE/MAX to stop selling homes in the settlements, RE/MAX LLC CEO Dave Liniger announced (http://www.codepink.org/r?u=http%3A%2F%2Fmondoweiss.net%2F2016%2F06%2Fpres byterians-announces-settlements%2F&e=247b6f0c69174ee7dfa25e341c4eedfe&utm_source=codepink&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=remax_chi2&n=2) that the company would no longer receive profits from Israeli settlement properties. At the time, RE/MAX Israel responded with a quote in Haaretz (http://www.codepink.org/r?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.haaretz.com%2Fisrael-news%2F1.730385&e=247b6f0c69174ee7dfa25e341c4eedfe&utm_source=codepink&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=remax_chi2&n=3) declaring they would be continuing “business as usual.”
