View Full Version : Is there any reason why Lenin's picture on Wikipedia is throwing a fascist salute?

I know it doesn't mean anything in actuality, but like, who chose that picture and put it there? That can't be an accident.

He isn't, the photo has been taken whilst he is talking to a crowd. The picture is from 1919, when fascism was pretty much just beginning to develop.

Yes, but some people might associate with it because of the similarity, so is this innocent or there's malicious intent? There are many great Lenin photographs to choose from.

But if this was the worse from Wikipedia it would be pretty neat.

There certainly are better pictures of Lenin around, I can only wonder why they didn't choose a better one.

The same person also added a nice image of Lenin speaking to the "political ideology". That editor has been spiffing up the Lenin article for a while and is responsible for a bunch of the changes made if you look at the edit history. Their efforts have been very good and cast a shitload of doubt on the accusation of conspiracy.
