Setting up a leftist group in University

Has anyone any experience in setting up a group on a University campus? I'm in the process of setting up one myself, but I'm more of a long time supporter first time organiser situation at the moment, so I'm pretty much flying blind.

Any advice welcome.

Can you clarify a bit?
Are you setting up a chapter/cell of an existing organization?
Are you attempting a concrete project of some kind (eg a paper, a social space)?
Do you want to attract people with a high level of political unity? Anyone who identifies with the left? Anyone at all?

All of these will impact what your organizing strategy looks like.
