I do not know if it is right to put this here. I wanted to start a poll but I don't know how to :( . Anyways, in May, the Presidential elections are going to be held here in my country. I want to know your opinion on whom I will choose because I am still undecided. I even think of not voting anymore but I don't want to waste my vote because some frgging "magician" might use my name in favor of an unworthy candidate. Well, I don't see anyone worthy from the list but I think when I vote I'll just put Xs on the space provided for each office. But if you were me, who would you vote for? Here are the options:
A. The incumbent President who is a slave for Bu$h
B. A military official who has a reputation of having people ambushed
C. A veteran actor who is the best friend of a former President. He hasn't any experience in politics except for the roles he play in his movies as a politician for the masses. He did not even finish high school. His most famous role is a swordsmith who has magical powers.
D. A religious leader named Eddie
E. Another religious leader whose name is also Eddie
F. A former secretary of education who is smart but also had an alleged history of corruption
There are still many others who are considered as nuisance candidates. One claims that he was sent by God. ANother says that he is Jesus Christ. Another one says he was Bush's girlfriend and another one claims that she was Saddam Hussein's maid. And many many others whom I think should be put in a Psychitaric institution and be introduced to reality.
Note: I think the actor would win. The masses love him. Oh, the horror...

That's the ticket! The "dirty little secret" of bourgeois elections is that it doesn't matter who wins...things will get worse!
Treat yourself to a pleasant day in the park, on the beach, in the mountains, whatever you enjoy doing.
Voting in bourgeois elections is the political equivalent of diving head first into a septic tank. You're going to come out feeling dirty and smelly no matter what you find.

You are choosing among capitalist parties during elections. The socialist parties are no use and the "communists" are marxist-leninist.
In the long run, it's all the same shit. You are just deciding which clique will rule you for the next four years.
The funny part is that the "promise" they all make are worth nothing. When you vote, you put some faith in a party, hopping that they will do as they say. None of them is tied to their programs or to the promises made during campaings.
I suggest you to cancel your vote, meaning that you acknowledge that none of them sastisfy you. These votes are still counted.

It really doesn't make sense to vote either way. As RedStar mentioned....whoever you choose you will be exceedingly dissapointed when all is said and done. Not like anyone's vote counts anyway... those rich bastards will put whichever puppet they want...anywhere on this planet. It's fuckin dissapointing...
I'm just waiting for the day the rich in El Salvador do something to knock down their Presidential opponent before the March elections...

Yeah.
Even if they would they will have to face opposition in a Congress or something, so it's a waste of time.

yea, you're vote really doesn't matter considering it's the electoral colleges that keep our future in straight conservative line. Cancel it.

Elections don't really matter to me anymore. I'd rather fight in a Communist
Revolution in Latin America.

wtf mate ^^
I entirely second the notion in regards to the electoral college... if anything it's the most undemocratic element of the US Government one could possibly imagine. I still fail to see how such a thing could still exist! One need not be smart to realize "gee... this isn't democracy!".
Damnit <_<

I would have Che would support the Marxist-Leninist. If you are referring to the NCP, I doubt they stand in the elections since they are a geurrilla group. Its certain there are other communist parties though.
I suggest go to vote and look for any Communist parties, surely there is one. If not I agree with Solace that you should spoil your ballot paper since they are counted as people voting to reject all the candidates.

I agree with Chairman Mao, look for a socialist candidate, there may be one who is unadvertised. The minister of education will only sell out to the right wing puppets or he would be a choice. It is no mistake that with US intervention you have little choice. Stay STRONG!

If there was a Communist Party here, with no second thoughts, I would vote for their candidates but sadly, the people here who call themselves communists are in the mountains with their blind ideologies collecting revolutionary tax and killing innocent people (mostly farmers). The real essence of communism here in my country is dead. The capitalists are the one ruling and the majority of my people are slaves to it. We are becoming more and more like America (sorry to our American comrades) and I really repel the idea. But nobody really cares. They keep on complaining about how the government is not doing them any good but who is it who put those people in power? They might as well blame each other.
To everyone, thanks for your opinion :)

Che did the same thing. The NCP are a big party and the only hope for the country, if they came to power your country would be like Cuba, but more powerful. The media would of course give them a bad image, it was the same with Che in Cuba.

Why do you say that my country would be more powerful than Cuba if ever the Communist Party of the Philippines-National People's Army (CPP-NPA) run my country? I know that the media is exagerrating and sensationalizing whenever ther are issues concerning the party. They always blame them for the deaths, the bombings that occur in the provinces. I know that they are responsible for some but not all. But still, I do not agree with the taking of people's lives especially if they are innocent.
