Well, I think you're wrong...though you might be less wrong with regard to some governments than with regard to others.
But the main problem is that those who despise the existing government for one reason or another often despise one another even more.
Would I offer my assistance to a Nazi plot to overthrow the government? Or to the Mafia? Or to the Christian Fascists?
What would I want to do a dumb thing like that for? If any of them won, they would kill me!
They, of course, feel the same way about communists and anarchists. They think, correctly, that if we ever came to power we'd most likely kill them.
People do fantasize about this sort of thing from time to time...but it's a non-starter.

Why would we want to join up with "the bad guys"? There may be people interested in revolution, but it's not worth demeaning ourselves as affiliates with gangs. It must be an honorable thing.

to overthrow the "most powerful nation" in the world [USA] would almost be humanly impossibnle.. yes i am anti-capitalist i hate nationalism. but everyday they make you do this and that. its as if they have a knife to your through and the tell you what to do.
overthrowing goverment is not as easy as it is in 3rd world coutries they cant supply them selvs so they run in 1st world countries they can sustain themselves...
gangs have no intrest in destroing the systerm anyway. they abuse it so they always win.. if that is revolution abusing people i see it you are your own enimy honer is revolution

Gang leaders and mafia dons have monetary power, but others do not.
I don't know how to put this. There is a reason so many people have been locked up in the United States, basically anyone who won't conform
And the knife to the back of conformity is forcing greater and greater subservience.
In some ways this is good, suppression of the ego is a good thing for the individual
But not by an autocratic bureaucratic system that oppresses and expells massive numbers of people.
Overcrowding in the "nation's" prisons has reached epidemic levels.
There are more black men in prison than college period
Don't think they don't know who would lead the revolution.
This is why Black Power, Red Power, Yellow Power any kind of power movement has had it's leaders killed, framed or otherwise torn down and destroyed.
This is the main job of certain "institutions"
But I think it's important to have a revolution of love, I follow King in this, I believe in non-violent demonstration, but I'm first out in the streets.
What really is at stake is do you have the drive to really change your life. When I look at people like Che and see the discipline with which they lived their lives, I for one fall very short of that. It really was a different generation.
Too many times I've seen a movement get started and be deserted because the real hard work has to involve daily practice and come from the heart. There's plenty of people who will jump on once the party's started but resist until then.
For now I think a shift in the dominant pedagogy would be a good start, I know I'm not alone in this.

over throwing the government
we can do it
How does that Aerosmith song go...?
Dreaam on, Dreaam on, Dreaam on
Besides. What do you think gangs and mobs represent, capitalism. So to have an enemy of the enemy join us in a revolution only to develop a possible worse outcome in the end is clearly no good idea.
A revolution must take place by the people and for the people. Not by the mob, for the people, and eventually for the mob again. The outcome would not be a desirable one, let alone am I going to stand next to a mobster while fighting for a revolution against capitalism. The mob is capitalistic.

It is improbable to overthrow the government with a communist revolution. RedStar2000 gave a good point that why would we want to help fascists overthrow the government? The probability, that I foresee, of overthrowing the government is one divided by infiniti.

well that a revolution will happened yeah but i'm pretty sure it'll be like in the 1920's {i think} it was socialism with smalltime capitalism going on... i mean like the song says it's a thin line between love and hate... they stayed in a war so that gun factories would keep bussiness but that was because it was the only source of production worth while ... whoa! got carried away but i did this a long time ago and forgot what my point was i just wanted to see what you guys thought
