For the people who don't know about it: there has been strikes and protests in the Terai(southern plains) of Nepal over the recently promulgated constitution. There has been offensives and counter-offensives killing over 100 people. I'm summing up the major demands of protesters:
1. The current federal structure that divides terai into 4 states shall be revised to accomodate no more than 2 states (their earlier demand was one Madhesh one province)
2. The constitution should guarantee proportionate inclusion of Madhesis in every sector.
3. The marital naturalized citizens should be allowed to hold important posts in government sector similiar to hereditary citizen.
4. The electrol regions should be based on population not geography.
5. The federal states should be given the right to self decision.

I am very confused about which side is the correct one. People here are heavily biased about the issues. Madhesis are supporting the agitation completely and non-Madhesis are against it. No one is thinking just taking a side on the basis of their race. I am a sympathiser of UCPN(M) but their current activities doesn't seems to be in the favour of poor working men, like promulgation of totally bourgeois constitution dumping all the motives of war and their recent coalition with far-right RRP. All the other parties against the Madhesh movement are either far-right reactionaries(RRP), pseudo-communist populists(CPN-UML) or liberal democratic(NC). The UDMF, the group of protesting parties, doesn't seems to be any better than those mentioned above. There are genuine honest people wanting the right for the Madhesi people but there are also staunch capitalist and corrupt leaders who want nothing but corporate benefits for Madhesi bourgeois. There is another player in this game, the imperialist bully of south Asia: India. India has been openly supporting Madhesh agitation and this is the reason why many non-Madhesi people don't find Madhesh struggle genuine. People here have a fear that India will swallow Nepal just like Sikkim if demands of Madhesis were fulfilled. This fear has been wisely used by government to keep its reign alive.

I wanted to know what do the people here in revleft think about these sort of struggles. Had you been here, what would you have done. Would you have supported the struggle or opposed it or remained neutral. I have a fear that it might result in someting like Rwanda genocide. Any opinion will be appreciated.

Its been a long time and nobody has responded. I think I didn't put it the right way. I should have generalized it a bit. So, here it goes.
If you have to choose between forces supported by imperialists and forces supported by nationalist/populist bourgeoisies, which will you choose? Or will you remain neutral?
