I just couldn't believe what I saw when I was watching TV and zapped through the channels, and saw a great Skapunk band perfoming live on TRT (Turkish state TV, broadcasted on German cable network because of the big Turkish community here), usally there is only strange Turkish folk music, and equaly strange Turkish TV series and all kind of stupid state propaganda on that channel, but that was really different, there some punks where performing a really great Ska song with a slightly oriental touch. I was amazed and with some Googeling I found out that the band is called Athena and that will play for Turkey at this years Eurovision song contest! I guess all Europeans here know the strange yearly ritual of the ESC...for all non Europeans: It's a big European song contest where normally all kind of bugging pop and folklore music is played...
It would be pretty cool if Athena could win the ESC, I'm hoping for them (the song they'll play is called 'For Real', I already have found it on kazaa) - Turkey 12 points, Turquie douze points :)
