The other day I heard a version of Bob Marley's "redemption song" played by Johnny Cash and Joe Strummer... it was great, has anyone heard it, or know where I can download it?

I didn't like that song all too much --- but I'm pretty sure the version I heard was only Joe Strummer. Maybe yours was a remix of some kind....??
As for downloading, try Limewire (http://www.limewire.com). It takes a second to download, but you can find absolutely anything on it. :)

It was released on a Johnny Cash box set that came out recently. I really like it, much better than the version that Joe did on his own. I just find it really cool to hear Johnny Cash singing those words. If you want a copy let me know I culd email it to you.

Yeah, I've heard it. The version of Joe doing it by himself is on his band's last disc (Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros). Great album, I love it.

"No Use for a Name" have released a great (pop-)punk version of Redemtion Song. It totally rocks, one of my all time favs!

The Pogues did a version that ws going to be released on Hell's Ditch but it didn't make the cut. Spider Stacey did the vocals on it. Sinead O'Connor also does a nice version.
There's a cool video ( I don't usually care for videos) for the Joe Strummer version. It was done post Joe's death. It show's a muralist creating a mural of Joe and shows all these different people coming to watch him paint it.

It is from a demo so it isn't super high quality and unfortunately Shane doesn't sing on it. It is on the way.

yea i've heard the same song before, but idk. Something about Bob Marley and his fight for freedom of people really shows in his song, but the Cash version (good as it may be) was lacking something.
