I partly created this thread because I felt I should do something to commemorate his upcoming birthday.
Here are two other threads I've made about him.
How the movie distorts his life. (http://www.che-lives.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23818&hl=malcom+x)
Concerning his death and the moments leading up to it (http://www.che-lives.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23144&hl=malcom+x)

Now I know how I got in the habit of making finger gestures when I talk (not the dirty kind!).

Being calm and cool in the presense of Dr. Yakub's creation.

The page from where this pic came (http://userpages.umbc.edu/~jbaile4/) had Bruce Lee and Tupac placed next to him, some people have horrid priorities.

Although more important to his images are his words. (http://www.brothermalcolm.net/mxwords/whathesaidarchive.html)

Wow, I never thought to see Malcolm X mentioned in a good light in a leftist forum. Like Che, Malcolm X is my hero. I even plan to get their posters and put them on my wall side by side. :D

yeah Malcolm X was a great inspirational person. The movie, (how distorted it may actually be) still moved me. I liked it greatly.

Yeah the movie was great. I liked his Autobiography immensely when I read it ten years ago. I thought it was one of the best books I had read.

leftist incorporates a lot of beliefs, including most liberals. I'd be ashsmed to think the majority of this board would not at least repsect the man.

That's very sad, because he was a very courageous and sound philosopher.
He has a bit of cult status in New York because of what he did for Harlem,
as we all know many people still follow his ethics of Islam.
It's sad that he was betrayed by those who could not understand how his mind had grown and saw that as a threat.
A warning against dogmatic institutions.

Has anyone hear read Black Power, by Stokely Carmichael and Charles V. Hamilton? That book opened up my eyes more than the Autobiography of Malcolm X ever did.
