"Communism" has never overthrown a democracy older than 3 years. Russia was a absolutist monarchy who's crimes have been overshadowed by Stalins. China was a one party state under the Kuomintang. Poland was a military Junta. Cuba was an Autocracy as was Nicaragua.
Likewise talking about "communism" screwing about nice democracies (eg. Taiwan and Tibet.) It must be remembered that Tibet was a one party state before it's invasion (it doesn't make what's going on now right though) and Taiwan was a one-party state under the Kuomintang until 1989.
