Interesting. Wonder how much of the reports of this being a "mission" are inflated ridiculous crap. Need to hear more.

I live like 50 minutes away from there. Weird, obviously my mom has gone mental as it happened. But idk the circumstances.

I suspect that this shooting is a hate crime against the disabled. I do not have any information to confirm the motive however.

xiv killed, xiv wounded. Clearly civilisation is the culprit. Either that or it's the real ableism. Even Garrett Lacroix is all shook up.
Anyway, some frantic messages from there, apparently, albeit with dubious phrasing. Still, interesting, let's see where people go with this.

The suspect named so far had an Arabic name (Farouk) but then again, it's all too early to know for sure if they are actually responsible. Also, there was a woman shooter (which is new for a group like ISIS, but I wouldn't assume that they or their sympathizers wouldn't utilize such an "innovation") and a social services center seems like an odd target for ISIS sympathizers (especially when LA is so close).
It's a terrible tragedy though ... my thoughts go out to the victims and their families.

I just want details. Why are details always so lacking?

Both suspects (man and woman) have Arabic names. Though Malik is common throughout the "Islamic" world. So I think the attack was indeed those of fanatics, though which organization or whether they acted alone is another thing.
This will off course further feed into the rabid attacks that have been common-place in U.S political discourse lately. It will further augment the power of the most reactionary elements (i.e Donald Trump) given that (inexplicably) they are seen as the best to "fight terrorism".

The two are a couple. Considering some of the people who were shot were the man's co-workers, this might turn out to be some kind of workplace revenge.

Another day in America, another mass shooting. We've had more mass shootings this year than there have been days so far. Though the death count from police shootings is still higher than from all the mass shootings. What is there to say really? A violent society is a violent society, and American capitalism thrives on violence at home and abroad.

I'm waiting for all the right-wing fanatics to crawl out of the woodwork and start yelling about how this is happening because Obama is a Muslim and there are too many Muslims and they should all be deported.

Believe me, it's already happening, and people are just getting warmed up. :(

Honestly the reaction to this whole thing isn't what I expected (internet wise). This is the first time my real life experiences are worse than my internet ones in terms of what people are calling for.

I think there is a good chance of a dual motive, much as with the Ft Hood shooter.

I hadnt heard that one of the Paris shooters was a woman, but sending a woman out to fire a gun seems like a more radical innovation than just fitting her with a suicide jacket and sending her out to press a button. There is something more passive about using a suicide bomb - you press the button, then you cease to be, and the bomb does all the work for you. Aiming a gun and firing it at someone seems to fit more with the kinds of "masculine" gender roles endorsed by rightwing Wahabists

No evidence as yet to whether this is Da'esh but what I found surprising is that one of the shooters was a woman; is this the first female mass-shooter? (It's the first I've heard of tbh)

This isn't even close to the first female mass shooter

No, but female mass shooters are extremely rare (i.e like 3% of total mass shooters). Given that it was 2 individuals who perpetrated the crime, I don't think this was a 'lone' and unplanned incident. From what I've read, the couple used body armour, manufactured pipe bombs, had a get-away car ready and used assault rifles. Most likely they had outside funding and help.

I disagree about that, the north hollywood shootout featured two heavily armed and armoured shooters with no outside help, they also had a get away car (which really isn't very uncommon), etc... Admittedly they didn't have pipe bombs but it also isn't like kids don't make pipe bombs every day. I'm saying conclusively that they didn't have outside help but that nothing so far really indicates that they did (unless there is more info that I'm unaware of).

The Islamic State has been using women as frontline fighters for some time now. Remember those two Austrian teenaged girls who went to the Islamic State? Both are now dead, one killed in battle, and the other beaten to death for trying to escape after being conscripted for front duty.
Btw, confirmed now. Made bayah.
