On this day in 1920, the Russian Red Army under the command of Leon Trotsky murdered an anarchist delegation of the Makhnovist insurgent army of the Ukraine under a flag of truce and attacked worker and peasant-run agrarian communes.

Because in order to create socialism, one must first destroy all traces of it.
Or something.

I don't quite get it, how is any anniversary important?
Right?

Right?
Totally, why does it even matter? Billions of people still have to go to work tomorrow. Even if the red army didn't kill the Makhnovists, it still wouldn't matter since the Makhnovists wanted a civilised existence.

Right?
No, not right. Nice little evasion there, but I'm not BIXX am I?
It's nice to see the Bolshevik betrayal and murder of anarchists being used to score points in inter-forum drama. Very classy.
Also, I think it's important to realise that I'm not necessarily posting this to claim any anniversary is important. I do think identifying the anti-communist tendencies of Trotskyism, however, is important. This moment in history being a prime example.
The lesson to be learned here: Never trust a Trot.

Trotsky does something wrong therefore Trotskyism has anti-communist tendencies? Hmm sounds consistent. Don't trust your own comrades? How the fuck do expect to organize with that attitude.

But then again....why would this be more or less important than the execution of a labour leader? And why wouldn't the same arguments count in this instance? Is there a qualitative difference between glossing over the death of anarchists than there is of glossing over the death of a labour leader?
My position on Bolshevism is pretty clear. But what I don't get is why the question of importance is controversial in one thread and not in another when sectarian and political lines are different.

I think the first thing you need to do is abandoned your assumption that organising means the same thing to both of us.
I also think you should read my words more carefully. I said that it was an example of Trotskyism's anti-communist tendencies. It is an example that is consistent with a modus operandi of repressing historical expressions of independent working class power. I'm not just talking militarily either. Any political movement where Trotskyists take a leading voice, their objective is exclusion, consolidation and dominance. If it is not inherent in the ideology, it is certainly inherent in their methods of practice. This is anti-communist because it does not allow the development of independent working class activity, instead it is recuperated and extinguished.

The above posters (870 and skinz) seem like their point is to either derail a thread by brining up drama from another thread or to criticize TFU for the positions that I hold which seems strange idk maybe I'm reading to much into this but I think that's kinda ridiculous

I think Xhar-Xhar Binks is capable of seeing the difference between you two, so I believe he posted his reply based on the fact that BIXX thanked the original post by The Feral Underclass.

Yeah....right. No you missed the rest of the thread.
This entire thread is a shit post sectarian flame bait as stated by OP. So the thread is closed. OP is warned from starting a thread with the same intentions.
