Five investigative journalists (edit: and some people who are not journalists but related to the case) are to be trialed by the last absolute monarchy of Europe for exposing corruption and fraud within Vatican City. Not surprising in the very least, given how the mafia are small scale gangsters compared to the Catholic Church when it comes to practicing corruption.
I posted this because it's extremely funny, frankly. There are five of these journalists, more than there are holding cells in the Vatican. The theocracy would have to get Italy to extradite them to the Vatican for the trial, and then ask Italy to imprison them for them if Italy decided to comply with the request for some bizarre reason, given that they do not have the space to imprison them themselves.
Really, I have no idea what the Vatican is trying to accomplish here. Way to undermine your own illusory pro-reform agenda, Francis! Though I'm happy about this, altogether. Maybe some people who have been duped by this new PR pope will finally realize that he's just the same old turd that the Papacy has always been. Feel free to throw this at anyone who is still deluded enough to believe that the Catholic Church or its slimy, pretentious figurehead are doing anything to try to change.
