View Full Version : Feminists: vote Republican

Feminists should vote Republicans. As of now they have finished entirely adopting the TERF discourse, in an indistinguishable manner:

It's obvious every feminist's agenda and narrative, that is, every bourgeois, anti-sex, anti-trans, etc. 'feminist' best matches the conservative agenda and narrative.

Of course, we know that these are genuine 'feminist' concerns thanks to our beloved TERFs. We need to demand 'respect' and 'protection' for women and children, as well as be 'tough' on crimes like rape! Now, that is a genuine 'feminist' stance, which happens to exactly match the agenda of conservatives.

Of course conservatives are going to appropriate that ridiculous narrative. This is similar to how some racists pretend to be "pro-gay", so they can deny rights to immigrants that they perceive as homophobic.

About Mike Huckabee: does he really think that openly admitting to being a creep helps his chances? If so, is there something in the water that Republican presidential candidates drink, or is his voterbase really that completely braindead?

I must ask, if it is such a concern that girls with vaginas shower together with girls with penises, why not adopt a civilized form of showering and install walled-off showering stalls with curtains? The few times I was forced to shower in an area with no curtains, I felt immensely uncomfortable even though there were at least walls - and I was a white cis-male showering with other white cis-males. Now that is a real issue that deserves to be solved.

Yeah some have even admitted it

"when I look at the House of Lords debate on this legislation, those I agree with most are the radical right. Particularly the person I find that I agree with most, in here, and I’m not sure he will be pleased to find this, is Norman Tebbitt" - Shiella Jeffreys

TERF ideology is clearly rooted in traditional sexism, it makes sense that they're close to the right. I wonder if they'd ever be able to comprehend the irony or if it'd make their heads explode.

IMHO it's ahistorical to depict the relationship between social conservatives and TERFs as appropriation. The most famous and well-read TERFs have knowingly and happily made coalition with the Christian Right when necessary to attack trans women, deny us transition care, block sweeping civil rights legislation, or whatever is jammed up their ass this week. There's nothing new, exploitative or nonconsensual about this.

Though I'm not willing to write off feminism at large over this one particular example- it's not even mildly shocking, sadly, so I was always factoring it in- it's another good opportunity to introspect on the links between radical feminism and the Christian Right- and between the official (white cishet) feminist movement and the particular web of privileges that protect its leaders individually.

As does the Republican Party itself of course, and I won't be surprised to see the least hierarchical of the nazi/WP groups start to do this over the next couple years too.
