Just back from a teacher + student demonstration - barely 300 of us.
Paraná's (PR) Governor Beto Richa (Governor = State/Province Executive power) is starting to close the public schools here in Londrina, starting with Colegio Estadual Anchieta.

He is just copying São Paulo's (SP) Governor Geraldo Alckmin, who simply closed 94 schools (340 THOUSAND students will now crowd the already over-populated school rooms.)

They are both from the PSDB party (Brazilian Party of Social Democracy, wich is neither Brazilian [They would sell their mothers to the USA] neither Social [As you can see] and neither Democratic [Sectors of them want to make a coup against president Dilma])

Paraná is in a crisis never before seen, the State Government has absolutely no money, they never said anything until the crisis hit us, they sold entire forests, created more taxes and expanding the already existing ones, they attempted to revoke the Teacher's rights and delayed the payment of salaries in both SP and PR, but a long strike by the teachers discouraged them and was a hit to their legitimacy and power.

Now the both Governors are avenging this loss in prestige and political power by simply closing schools and declaring six classes/lessons per day (This is simply an outrage, the students that work won't be able to reach work in time and night students will sleep almost nothing)

And there are idiots defending the closing of schools. This is unbelievable.

Who's leading the demos there? UMES or another cast of cretins? How strong are Juntos and ANEL?

A girl from UPE - União Paranaense de Estudantes that told us about the demonstration, however most of us (Including myself) got late to the demonstration and the "official" guys had already left. They didn't warn us. Too bad, that 300 demonstration could become a 400 demonstration...

This was because while 2/3 of the school was at the gates the director only opened the gates at 11:50. Only the room presidents and the Grêmio Estudantil members were allowed to join the demonstration, when we students got there it was over.

By 12:20 (The time I left) there were less than 10 students left, all of my school.

Just google "Manifestação Vicente Rijo Londrina", my PC has news site blocked.

EDIT: I guess you can see the situation of the student class in Paraná (reference?)... we are disorganized as fuck.
In my school there is a little post-modern/anarchist vanguard, I and 2 other "marxists", leftist/left-leaning teachers and a lot of ignorant students.
