There are two novels that can transform a bookish 14-year-kid’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish daydream that can lead to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood in which large chunks of the day are spent inventing ways to make real life more like a fantasy novel. The other is a book about orcs

I have never had a conversation with someone, who admired her, and walked away thinking, "man, that person had some really good points".

that is what makes it so disturbing. The weird thing is that they always claim the "moral high ground", while they cannot even grasp how altruism and co-operation are intimately connected. This is probably because they celebrate the anti-society aspect of capitalism.

It's hard to top this one:
Saint Petersburg in revolt gave us Vladimir Nabokov, Isaiah Berlin, and Ayn Rand. The first was a novelist, the second a philosopher. The third was neither but thought she was both.
In even fewer words:
The greatest argument for building gulags.

That wasn't really the point. What she represents is more than just a "disgraceful opinion". Maybe she's just one author with reactionary views, but if they in any way resemble the perspective of other possible or actual reactionary groups in Russia...
But seriously, lighten up. I said "greatest argument", not "good argument".

You could have said 'dissertation,' but it's actually convincing in some way. The phrasing isn't an issue.
