Greetings, comrades. I am a revolutionary leftist from England, and I live amongst many neo-fascists and bigots (UKIPers and BNP Nazis). I have come here both for entertainment, discussion and refuge.
Why did I become a leftist? I think I would've become one anyway, but my parents are both fairly left-wing in their views and have influenced me. I must admit to being a bit of a "Sovietphile" when it comes to history and such, so that likely influenced it too. Although I align myself with Leninism, I sympathise with Syndicalism, Council Communism and Libertarian Socialism (I mean hey, George Orwell was one of the latter).
Outside of leftist history and politics, however, I am an avid reader of a variety of genres (especially dystopian fiction and surrealistic existential sci-fi by the likes of Philip K. Dick), a fledgling philosopher and a fan of too many things to list here.
