It is time for the annual RevLeft Survey and Awards to begin, and as I did last year, I have created online surveys for both of these to make the nomination process easier for both myself and those who wish to send in nominations. The Awards will be announced in December, probably on Friday the 4th from about 9 or 10pm UK time, but I will let people know in advance when I have set a time and date. As there is no Chat anymore, I will open a sticky thread for people to comment on the Awards as they are announced, which will be closed at the end and replaced with the traditional post-Awards thread.
I have used Google Forms to create the surveys this year, if there are any issues please let me know.
The survey itself (all questions are voluntary) will ask members for their age, biological sex, gender identity (write-in question), sexual orientation (write-in), country of birth (write-in), country of residence (write-in), mother tongue (write-in), number of languages spoken, religious beliefs or lack of (write-in), political tendency (write-in), occupation (write-in), dietary preferences, alcohol usage, tobacco usage, weed usage and other drug usage.
The Awards themselves have been streamlined down to seventeen questions, with some of the less relevant questions removed. Rather than have ten plus questions on favourites, the Awards will consist of two sections - the eight "2015" Awards, where people nominate things from the year (as in, since the last Awards so it includes last December), and the nine "RevLeft" Awards, which of course are the main awards.
The "2015" Awards are as follows -
International Crisis of the Year 2015
Revolutionary of the Year 2015
Reactionary of the Year 2015
Non-Political Organisation of the Year 2015
Political Organisation of the Year 2015
Most amusing instance of the Year 2015
Technological or scientific advancement of the Year 2015
Person of the Year 2015
The RevLeft awards are as follows -
Buzzword of the Year 2015
Shitstorm of the Year 2015
