Hey guys. I haven't updated the boxing thread in a while (I'll get around to that...) but in the mean time I made this video breaking down the next big fight of the year, Miguel Cotto vs. Canelo Alvarez. Please check it out.

Ugh, a fight between a has-been and a never-will-be. They are trying so desperately to "make" Canelo happen. I am willing to bet money they bought the judges (or Lara himself) in the Lara vs Canelo fight. It was just ridiculous. In the Mayweather vs Canelo fight, despite the utter disparity in skill, I remember one of the judges actually gave the fight to Canelo. I've become so disenchanted with boxing in general.

Cotto's no has-been. He's looked the best he's looked in years with his last 3 fights.
I agree Canelo gets the judges on his side and is over hyped. In the Trout fight the scores were very wide. One judge gave Canelo 6 rounds (a draw) which was preposterous. And against Lara, which was a close fight, the deciding 3rd judge had it unreasonably wide for Canelo. You have to respect his willingness to fight the best though. He beat Trout, Angulo, Lara, and Kirkland. Nobody is really above him at Jr. Middleweight.
Do you have thoughts on the video?
