Greetings comrades! I'm relatively new to leftist theory and stumbled upon this forum. I've read basic Marx, Lenin, and Stalin, as well as some Badiou, Zizek, David Harvey, and a few other popular modern takes. I'm looking to expand my theoretical base, and to ensure that I have a deep understanding of leftist thought.

I consider myself a Marxist-Leninist in the sense that I greatly admire Lenin's methods of criticism and knowledge, though I don't necessarily think his conclusions are still applicable to modern society (though it still could be, I have no idea really).

I look forward to our discussions and hope to learn a lot!

Hope you enjoy! The Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital remain the basic foundation. If you've read all that stuff in full, you're already past me and I'm not new anymore. I also like Georg Lukacs' History & Class Consciousness (1920); as Marx omitted much and never assembled it in one place as done here. With the nature of late capitalism's class system undergoing profound changes, factory farming and the proletarianization of the peasantry for instance, Lukacs has added relevance. Plus I've had trouble understanding revolutionary consciousness; I put my foot in my mouth on it a lot.

Hello welcome to the forum. Normally Q, one of the moderators, approves new introduction threads for his own introductionary welcome. I see this is missing so in his stead:
