I admire Chavez in the way he helped completely change the Venezuelan system. Through revolutionary yet democratic methods, he's helped start up hundreds of thousands of cooperatives, ensured more worker rights, started up Bolivarian missions/social programs (greatly promoting and expanding education, food, healthcare, housing, land reforms, indigenous rights, anti-poverty, and illiteracy), and helped create a successful system of communal councils which oversee local policies and develop communities. The state was strong, but it was democratic and decentralized where it needs to be. I believe Chavez has also said he follows the idea of permanent worldwide revolution.
