Contradictions

Could someone explain to me the contradiction between town and country a bit better? Somewhere in my readings I came across that and I'm struggling to rationalize it because I'm mildly confused

If I recall correctly, Marx was referring to towns as concentrations of industrial production and the hub of the proletariat and the "country" as the domain of the peasantry, which as a historically lower form of social development would cease to exist through the progression of the struggle of bourgeois social relations and the quantitative shift of the peasantry into the industrial centers. Don't quote me though.
