[I Will Deny You]

One thing that everyone who reads the print edition may notice:

They were especially hard on GE in their article. Not that GE didn't deserve it, because they did, but this time of year is always fundraising time for The Nation (I got a letter from them asking for money about a week ago). Anyway, they had a big full-page ad for themselves and it said something like "No one owns The Nation. Not GE, not ." And they had a picture of Sam Waterson reading the magazine. It said that he was a longtime reader of The Nation, or something. Here's one problem, though: Sam Waterson is known almost exclusively as [i]that guy from Law & Order. Guess what channel Law & Order's on? NBC! Which is owned by . . . (drumroll, please) General Electric. I'm not saying that he's a dumb guy, because he's probably not, and I think he's a decent actor, I just think it's kind of ironic.

I'll be a lifelong Nation reader anyway.
