Heyoo comrades,
I'm a guy in my 20s, hailing from the tundras and shitty summers of Finland. I've been a communist or socialist in one way or another since middle school, and I don't plan on leaving the left in my lifetime. I like climbing, cycling, and tearing down the bourgeoisie and patriarchal power structures in my free time.
So, up until recently, the place where I've spent most of my time congregating with other leftists was Reddit. Honestly, it is a pretty good place for discussion about, well, anything. Recently, though, it's been slowly but surely been infected with filth like right-wing reactionaries, racists (/r/coontown specifically), and misogynists of a caliber I've not seen anywhere else on the Internet (/r/theredpill). The admins made it clear they were either spineless or racist too, so I decided to abandon ship and find a new place for myself to discuss and read theory of politics.
So here I am. I was pointed towards this place at /r/socialism, made this account yesterday and have been poking around the threads here. So far, so good, so I'll try and stay here.
Thanks for reading,

Welcome!!
I have tried to get into Reddit, back when Occupy was the hot new thing, but I found the discussions to be disappointing and often flat-out inaccurate, not just among the right-wing userbase, but on /r/socialism, /r/anarchism, and /r/communism. A bunch of people have wandered over here from Reddit recently, actually.
What sort of cycling do you do? I'm super into track cycling myself, as well as road, and I'm about to buy a mountain bike. I also used to be a bike messenger.
What sort of socialist or communist would you describe yourself as these days?

I had a response written out, but my browser crashed. Frustrating.
Anyways, I'm a Marxist/Materialist Feminist who's gone from a theoretical interest to radical action in the last few years. I've joined the Leftist League Youths, and find myself radicalizing more and more. I'll probably try to run for a municipal office in the next elections.
I've got a cross-country bike that I use for all sorts of things, mostly transport as I can't afford a car and public transport, hilariously, takes longer than cycling most of the time. I also do long treks, a couple of hundred kilometers, every summer during my vacations. What's a bike messenger? Never heard of that
FULLCOMMUNISM is the only subreddit that I'll be visiting even after this migration hahaha

Yeah, I've been on reddit lately, and reddit leftists kinda suck. I got immediately banned from r/communism for calling them Stalinists (lol), and r/socialism is full of eclectic liberals.
There def. seems to have been shit going on with all the reactionary outrage over some mod getting banned along with r/fatpeoplehate & r/rapingwomen getting shut down. It was annoying when all those subreddits set themselves at private in "protest".

I was a mod of one of the subreddits that went private. It wasn't about anything the CEO redditors hate did, it was about poor communication between admins (the ones who run the site), and moderators (the volunteers who run subreddits). The problem existed since before Ellen Pao (the CEO reactionaries hated for banning reactionary subreddits) was even in charge. It was just poorly timed, because it coincided with the already existing "protest" against her. I only decided to set one subreddit to private, and it was one that was especially hurt by poor admin-moderator communication. The reactionaries completely hijacked the going-private thing, though.
Welcome :)
If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!
If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.

Welcome to Revleft! I'm a finn too, although born, raised and currently again living in Stockholm. I've however been politically active in both Sweden and Finland, used to belong to the trotskyist CWI, in Finland 'SV/Sosialistinen Vaihtoehto'.
I quit that about a year ago however, and am currently not affiliated with any organisation. Anyway, we have a finnish language forum here on RevLeft too, in the international section.
It has been quiet lately, but feel free to start some discussions to revive it.
