So if you guys haven't heard, there was recently this faux-'scandal' (http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/undercover-video-shows-planned-parenthood-exec-discussing-organ-harvesting/2015/07/14/ae330e34-2a4d-11e5-bd33-395c05608059_story.html?tid=sm_fb) created by a anti-abortion front organization (The Center for Medical Progress) when they secretly filmed an interview (under false pretenses, I should add) of a Planned Parenthood official discussing the topic of fetal organs used for research. Because of this, Republican assholes all over the country have been exploiting this bullshit to help their image, hurting both Planned Parenthood and poor women in the process.

That of course is horrible, and these lying scumbags deserve some kind of retaliation.

But for some reason, it seems that the Pro-Choice movement here in the U.S. just isn't nearly militant enough. We need to be MUCH more forceful and aggressive in our campaigning. We can't just hope to 'rise above it' and 'not lower ourselves to their level' anymore. That bullshit isn't working. They've got MONEY behind them and they're gaining ground!

We need to be willing to confront Anti-Choicers more. I've suggested that we fight fire with fire when it comes to placards. Those assholes want to use photos of miscarriages and chicken fetuses and falsely claim they're the results of abortions? Fine...then WE should be bearing placards of the ACTUAL corpses of women who have died from complications due to back-alley abortions. No more of that coat hanger bullshit, we should have ACTUAL images of bleeding vaginas that resulted from botched back alley abortions. Confront these people with the results of their twisted moralism.

We can't dance around this issue anymore. We have to be willing to confront these fuckers and show them that those who are Pro-Choice won't be walked all over anymore.

I think that would very easily look as if we're using tragedies of actual women for shock-porn.

And I think our tactics do need to be different from those of forced-birthers, not because of any "moral high ground" bull, but because we're trying to achieve two very different things. The forced-birthers want to scare people into pushing for more restrictions - we on the other hand surely want to educate people into pushing for less restrictions.

One thing I think the pro-abortion movement could do is stop being so squeamish and apologetic. Dispense with the "abortion is a great tragedy" nonsense. But that's not going to happen as long as it's led by liberals.
