Goth teen wears goth outfit to school, showing a little bit of leg, school sexualises the outfit, and conservatives agree: inappropriate.
"What on earth were you thinking, letting a 15 CHILD dress like that in public. Damn right the school sent her home. Good for them."
"No 15 year old today needs to be told what bondage is. The outfit does look exactly like that. If her daughter is too naive to understand, the mother ought to ensure her young, vulnerable daughter doesn't walk the streets wearing that outfit."
"But this IS bondage clothing!"
"No uniform doesn't mean no clothes. Who the bloody hell let her walk out the door like THAT !?! Pull yourself together woman! THIS IS A MINOR IN BONDAGE CLOTHING!!"
No uniform doesn't mean no clothes... what does no clothes look like:

lol. How pathetic, sexualising a teen over a heavily clothed goth outfit. This is as unbelievable as sexualising girls for wearing a school uniform, then sending them away from school over it. Maybe those DM-readers need to consider moving to Saudi Arabia, where women don't dress like whores flaunting a bit of leg.

My fellow Goths are always facing this bullshit. It's a minority culture and people need to respect the clothing we like to wear.
Upper lag, lol

Yeah I didn't ge the "lag" for the first couple of times I've seen the title
Even though the person dresses as a goth, I don't think that this is an issue of a minority, reviled sub-culture. Or to be more precise, I don't think this is a primary aspect to it all. The primary aspect seems to be a ridiculous sexualization of the person with the corrolary of moral goddamn panic.

The Daily Mail is a vile paper and trawling through the comments can be utterly depressing!

Don't Catholic schoolgirl's skirts sometimes show more leg? I don't even know why this is an issue. It is kind of odd that conservatives would think of some weird bondage sex angle for what this student wore.

Come on, Tories are infamous for their secret sexual vices. They cannot see a young lady dressed like this without feeling an urge to kneel down and perform submissive bdsm sexual acts.
And then go to the parliament and vote for stringent punishment for those who perform submissive sexual acts.

As a Catholic school survivor, I can attest to the fact that the skirts are generally fairly long. I one had a teacher who used to get a ruler and measure girls' skirts to be sure they were on par with the dress code. Nothing like the miniskirts you see on "sexy schoolgirls" on the internet nowadays. However, this outfit shows just as much skin, if not slightly less, but in a different part of the legs. And I thought social conservatism in my area was bad! The fact that this is news with a fierce uproar from these idiots boggles my mind..

It's just an excuse to call some girl a whore, nothing is funner for these people than getting around with their conservative pals and slut shaming people they'd like to sleep with even if the person has never even had sex before. I mean really, who looks at that and thinks "bondage" and not "goth" when she's a 15 year old girl?

I'm trying to figure out how this is an issue about goths, and not an issue of misogyny.

Oh goths you've done it again!
This has to be a British because in Miami unless you show up naked to school nobody cares.

I'm pretty sure the panic is not over the amount of skin being shown, but the supposed resemblance of the outfit to "bondage clothing" (ignoring for a moment that anything can be bondage clothing and that the dress women wear in Saudi Arabia could also be bondage clothing). It's funny, though, how it's perfectly alright for teens to learn about how great the blood-soaked (don't want to say "bloody" here) British Empire was, or how the great Chuck the Hammer pushed back the Moors (also Basques but who cares) and saved Christendom, but:
"No 15 year old today needs to be told what bondage is."
I mean, good God, imagine the horror, teens learning about human sexuality. Wouldn't it be far better for them to be taught by manipulative creeps that unfortunately inhabit the fringes of the scene? Or maybe it's better for them to not learn about any kink at all and just lie down and think of England.

yeah sure, but I also highlighted the comment (with many upvotes) "No uniform doesn't mean no clothes."

It never fails to amuse me how western countries such as the UK, for all the presence of being sociallly more progressive than the rest of the world, freak out so much over stuff like this.
I mean, here in Japan you see teen and pre-teen girls wear much worse on a daily basis. Here's the thing - nobody freaks out about it. People just get on with their own darn lives.

The archaic concept of the over-sexualization of young girls and their bodies is one of the most abhorrent practices that social conservatives continue to perpetrate... Not bad enough that they claim she is showing too much skin, but to equate her clothing to a bdsm outfit, that's just appalling.
