LOS ANGELES — Paris Hilton's youngest brother, Conrad, has been sentenced to community service and a $5,000 fine for disrupting a flight from London to Los Angeles last year.

Authorities say Hilton was on a British Airways flight in July when he called other passengers "peasants" and threatened to kill crew members. Flight attendants handcuffed him.

Sure, he was a jerk... but he didn't actually do anything seriously wrong.. What would you have the judge do, lock him up for a decade for making idle threats? The point is that if this was Joe Shmuel the Teamster we were talking about, he would be sent to prison with no newspaper coverage. Yeah, giving the bourgeois state the power to imprison people for taking certain chemicals is a bad idea, and breaking his legs wouldn't actually solve anything (and would be problematic because if there is a single group you can't trust to make decisions about leg-breaking... well actually it's all groups, but leftists are particularly bad), I can certainly imagine it would bring a smile to the face of many people who have had to deal with a rich arsehole, or a boss arsehole.

Personally I think the flight staff should fight for the prerogative to turn the plane around in cases such as this, and then let the bourgeoisie lynch the little spoiled rich brat because of all the money that will lose them. But that presupposes a higher stage of class struggle than exists at the moment.

Imagine if anyone, poor or even middle class did this! Worse, imagine a muslim went around threatening to fight the pilot, and swung at flight attendants, and threatened the passengers with death, and smoked chemicals in a plane bathroom.
