The Feral Underclass
15th June 2015, 20:17
This thread is only for people who have seen the end of Season 5...
...What the motherfucking fuck...I am so fucking pissed off that Jon Snow died. I was fucking glad that Stannis got killed and the fire lady got that smirk wiped off her face, and that Reek grew some metaphoric balls, but Jon Snow...Sexy little Jon Snow?! Gutted.
I have no idea where the next season is going. I'm kinda rooting for Cersi now and can't wait for her to unleash hell on King's Landing.
Why Jon..Why!? :crying:

Don't worry, Melisandre will most likely resurrect Snow, just like the Band of Brothers resurrected Beric Dondarrion.
A Targaryen child, after all, is way too important for the storyline to kill off ;)

Kudos to Arya in this episode as well, for going bat-shit insane on Ser Meryn Trant.

Especially now with Gregor "The Frankenstein" Clegane by her side.
I thought the 'fuck off!' comment was hilarious though during the walk of shame.

Since GGRMARtin or whatever he's called is not finished writing, maybe next season wont be until 2017. Just speculating.

So I was a follower of the Lord of Light, but in light of recent events, I don't think he's a true god after all. I'm now big on the Faith 7. All are equal in the eyes of the Lord. It is a religion of the commoner.

That is not acceptable.
He said he had told the producers how the whole story ends, so presumably they have an idea of what all the books are gonna be about.

Are we meant to assume that Theon and Sansa jumped from the walls without breaking their spines and legs? I mean, that was a pretty high wall.
Sansa following in her brothers footsteps, or lack of footsteps rather.
Just too many cliffhangers :crying:

R'hllor doesn't fail, it's his disciples that are wrong. Stannis isn't Azor Ahai and so he isn't favoured by the Lord of Light. Even Melisandre realised this.

Wait, Arya Stark died? Some people said that. How does that even make sense? I just thought she was going blind, and this was going to be a lesson for her or some dumb shit. I was going to post a fake spoiler on fb as a joke, good thing I didn't if it's really real.

Yeah I thought she was just being blinded as punishment. There was nothing to suggest that she was dying. Well, I just hope that that the blindness is temporary.
I'm not exactly sure what the dead Arya face signified though.

Bran is paralyzed, Tyrion has dwarfism, Jamie is missing a hand, Davos is missing four fingers, Shireen had greyscale, the Hound had a burned face, Holdor has an intellectual disability, Varys and the Unsullied are castrated with a male gender identity(as far as we know), Joffrey and seemingly all of House Bolton has psychopathy, Ayra has blindness, and Sansa and Theon have/had PTSD. A diverse cast of characters who have a disability. Perhaps Game of Thrones will raise awareness of ableism in our society.

I'm pretty sure that Jon Snow isn't dead - where was his giant wolf (or the giant for that matter) when all that was going down anyway?!
I think Bran will appear to Jon as he is about to die and give him some tree magic or something... too many magic beings around the north for Jon to die. Plus I wanna see the bastard-brawl between Jon and (Eww) Ramsey.
Dumb move by the night-watch - what all 50 of em are going to now take on the free-folk (and a giant and a giant wolf) after trying to kill the only southern-ally from the night-watch?
Fuck you Ollie.

Nah still not buying it. Jon of Houses Targaryen and Stark, First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm must live.
Otherwise Martin would be a fucking prick for messing with our heads.

The whole R+L=J theory is probably true. Jon is my second guess for Azor Ahai...
Reading your post though makes me remember that GRR Martin is a giant fucking prick and so i'm positive Jon is dead for good. No coming back from the dead, no warging into ghost... He's dead 'cause Martin's a prick.

There will come a day after a long summer when the stars bleed and the cold breath of darkness falls heavy on the world. In this dread hour a warrior shall draw from the fire a burning sword. And that sword shall be Lightbringer, the Red Sword of Heroes, and he who clasps it shall be Azor Ahai come again, and the darkness shall flee before him.
"I pray for a glimpse of Azor Ahai, and R'hllor shows me only snow"
Here's hoping that Jon got knifed so he's released from his vows.

i dont think hes dead either, but wish the show wouldve featured that element more prominently ie lady stoneheart. we havent see resurrection since season one with thoros iirc, and we havent seen any of jon's warging dreams or bran doing weird tree shit at all this season, whereas in the books there is a definite buildup of weird magical shit happening as time goes on and winter draws closer. maybe next season will highlight more of that in preparation for jon coming back in season 7? definitely think some more stage setting needs to occur or it just looks kinda cheesy and deus ex machina

http://dariopecarov.com/2015/04/18/asimovs-foundation-to-become-an-hbo-series/
The premise of the series is that the mathematician Hari Seldon spent his life developing a branch of mathematics known as psychohistory, a concept of mathematical sociology. Using the laws of mass action, it can predict the future, but only on a large scale. Seldon foresees the imminent fall of the Galactic Empire, which encompasses the entire Milky Way, and a dark age lasting 30,000 years before a second great empire arises. Seldon also foresees an alternative where the interregnum will last only one thousand years. To ensure the more favorable outcome, Seldon creates a foundation of talented artisans and engineers at the extreme end of the galaxy, to preserve and expand on humanity's collective knowledge, and thus become the foundation for a new galactic empire.

Surely Foundation would be very difficult to convert to the screen. The hundreds of years spanned across the various chapters preclude character development and linear story telling. Unless they are doing the whole series of books and the Mule, etc.

Game of thrones is simply getting dry - save for a few episodes, the degeneration of the quality in the show is sad.
The first three seasons were excellent. But because they have to cram so much in, each and every scene in the newest season seems like it just has to keep up with our attention span - it seems so ingenuine.
Game of thrones has become self aware of its popularity - and its really cringeworthy watching it sometimes because it's reflected through the show. It almost seems like every scene they make, they make for the trailer - like while they're filming it, they're thinking "Yeah bro, this is game of thrones! You win or you die! valur morgulus!".

Same, I stopped watching half way through. I thought the stuff set in Dorne was particularly shit, like it was written for a budget SyFy series.
