To Build a Better Mousetrap (http://www.molleindustria.org/to-build-a-better-mousetrap/)

This game is actually very interesting. While it seems as though you are playing as a member of the bourgeoisie, really I think you're playing as capitalism itself, mechanically imprisoning those who rebel, raising wages but only once that change would realistically not even touch what the employees want (if you don't just fire them). Making employment less and less stable- it's very cool in my opinion, found that it could be very educational while still interesting.

Anyone else got any cool ones?

A game called phone story was recently released and it quite good. It tells the story of how workers in developing countries are paid low money to and live in bad conditions to assemble smart phones while the capitalists make untold profits

this game seems interesting, especially if it was expanded and updated (considering it's only 3 turns long), but it seems to be just an educational game to describe how no matter what stalin did 10's of millions would've died, and that if stalin did anything it was save lives during the greatest financial and political crises eastern europe, and western asia had ever seen.

BIR made a thread recently, about the only other game (atleast that i've ever heard of) that has anti capitalist values, and that's monopoly!!!http://www.revleft.com/vb/socialist-roots-monopoly-t193306/index.html?t=193306&highlight=monopoly

Other than that I would personally love to see a turn-based strategy game like sim city or age of empires, where the "winner" is the one who achieves 1 world communism

Ive also always felt the soviets adored chess so much, because "the king" dies at the end of every game, and there was obviously something more to that, but maybe that's just me???

You missed the point of the game and never got the good ending I see.

But the point in that game isnt so much winning or losing but showing exploitation and how capital attacks those who want to be not or less exploited- in fact, its impossible to win as far as I'm aware without arresting every mouse at the bottom of the page

But in chess, a king dies only in losing to another king. I haven't played since I was a kid, but I might start playing again with a good friend. It's a good 2-person game.

Anyway, I really enjoy tabletop role playing games; Carwars, D&D, etc. You're directly interacting with other humans, so there's a socially fulfilling aspect to it that video games just can't achieve. There's also a versatility to them that video games will not offer for the foreseeable future; if the person running the game will allow it, you can invent a new class (like witch, union bureaucrat, alchemist, etc.).

I especially like D&D. While playing the game, your character can attempt to do anything you think of; invent a machine, jump up and swing on a chandelier, persuade the enemy to join your side, infiltrate the nobility to assassinate someone to prevent a genocidal campaign against the orcs, organizing a werewolf pride parade to bring them "out of the closet", organize a crusade against faeries, crush peasant revolt against the vampires, etc.

Of course, playing them requires organizing a group of players, which often falls apart and conflicts with people's personal lives. There are other games set in a high-tech future, like Shadowrun, which also offer a lot of versatility.

pretty good game, although not sure if it's worth the 10 dollar price tag.

Oh, speaking of cheap / free, you can easily find PDFs of D&D 3.5 (the best edition IMO), Shadowrun, etc. on Pirate Bay.

Other good tabletop games, which aren't really anticapitalist, but still fun, and include some political games like Revolution or Illuminati, are made by Steve Jackson Games (besides Car Wars), but they make some really good tabletop games to play with friends as well as a few free computer / phone games. These books as well are generally easy to find as PDFs on Pirate Bay. Some nerdy friends of mine especially into them; we don't game as often as we used to, unfortunately.
