Well I mean all the top-repped people have different politics, not all of them are especially jokey, etc. It's not just people who have politics everyone agrees with or who is funniest. I think Good Posts has at least something to do with it.

Yeah I don't thank posts just because I agree with them any more, but I get the feeling a lot of people do. I think the rep system does turn into a circlejerk pretty frequently. Simply turning off the names of the people who thanked the post might be helpful. Just have it say X number of people found this post useful or something.
