hey comrades,
i am currently in the process of organizing a demonstration against my school for forcing us to support slave labour by making us wear uniforms made by rj mccarthy. its disgusting, why should money always take priority over human rights! and its suppossed to be a christian school! i have thought of a walk out and and walk to the catholic school board office which is adjecent to our school or maybe a dont go to school in uniform day. maybe at the protest i will burn my uniform clothing! i have already put up posters of nazis wearing mccarthy tags on their uniforms with a list of facts below and got some detentions any more suggestions?

Sure. Get a lot help from unions, maquilla solidarty network (http://www.maquilasolidarity.org) if you haven't already and the YCL (http://www.ycl.communist-party.ca) (they're helping me out a lot with my shin dig) really anyone you can find.
I guess for revolts like these, students are the deciding factor because teachers can't really "force" you to wear your cappie clothes... as long as there's enough of you, right? Get as much media as you can and publicize everything the board does wrong.
Good luck, and don't get discouraged because most high school kids are so damn status quo or neoliberal (it's a high school, right?) I'm planning a coca-cola boycott in my school and that's a huge obstacle -- where's the left?

You have to do something about that! I don't know how you like the idea, but go to school in underwear... The best thing would be naked, but it's cold where I am. So I can't suggest that!
Go to school in underwear and when a teacher is going to comment it say something like: I have bad conscience of walking in clothes made by children. Christianity is about asking for forgiveness from your bad deeds... See if you can use that. Hang up posters with "I hope God forgive me for walking in clothes made by children working as slaves".

That's my idea. Hope it's for any use and that you have people to back you up! I don't know if there's anything called political conscieness in your school. At my school there aren't any and that's a christian (protestant)...

right, im reading "rules ofr radicals" so i think u should read that and do what it says.
massive non violent resistance. It is the best fight against something like a skool because they don't know how to respond to such an act.

disobedience, don't wear a uniform, instead wear a t-shirt documenting why you won't wear a uniform. Fruit of the loom sells custom t-shirts for five dollars apeice with a minimum order of 10 or something, sell them for 5 apeice at your school to like-minded students.

yeah, that'd be a good idea. The media coverage I mean. and the protest in general.

Most kids although not actually sypathetic to your cause will use any excuse to get out of work or at the very least mundane routine, so try to round up as many as you, and try and make it dramatic i.e. leave during class, if 2 or more guys go from each class the rest by my reckoning will follow, and may I ask where are the children that are being exploited?

Fruit of the Loom are also linked to child labour and sweatshops..

I can't believe I missed this post, well this is the perfect chance to be active but not hated...I agree with but have sympathy for those that try coca cola boycotts, because many of your peers will disagree, but I remember uniform was hated at my highschool. So at least you can unite that way. Before you do anything mad though, state your case reasonably and calmly, saying that you are no longer comfortable wearing these items, and you are willing to go to any lengths to change the current situation. There is no need to drag the school through the mud, if you can work with them you may well change more in the long run.

Of course if they refuse I would do the petition and post details in a local paper, stating when a demonstration is to be held. Be creative and with media coverage, and the school on damage control, they will surely come to some agreement with you.

Of course until thuis time you could make your own uniform, and all be united in its wearing.
