Hi I just created my account yesterday. I've been lurking and reading the posts here with increasing interest.
Looking forward to meeting people here.
Welcome :)
If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!
If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.
What are your political ideas, if anything in particular?

I'm struggling between thinking of myself as an anarchist or a Marxist. On the one hand, there are things about anarchism that I particularly like. The fact that it seems more dynamic and open to new ideas, (this is based on having read entries at The Anarchist Library), and the openness to Youth Rights issues is the other positive thing I've noticed.
On the other hand, the main argument I've heard from people I know who are Marxists, that small federations wouldn't be able to coordinate well enough to manage large scale production, seems to make sense to me. This leaves me feeling somewhat skeptical of anarchism.

I can think of two relatively short books (less than 200 pages) for you to check out, if you want.
The first is Fighting For Ourselves (https://libcom.org/files/Fighting%20For%20Ourselves.pdf) (pdf) from Solidarity Federation out of the UK. It's like an introductory primer to anarchism, syndicalism, and council communism.
The second is Revolutionary (http://ouleft.org/wp-content/uploads/Macnair-Revolutionary-Strategy.pdf)Strategy (http://ouleft.org/wp-content/uploads/Macnair-Revolutionary-Strategy.pdf) (pdf)by Mike McNair of the Communist Party of Great Britain. This one is McNair's take on the history of the communist movement, and where communists ought to go from here.

Thanks for the books. I'll definitely take a look at them.
