So a little back story, i have not seen this guy for 7 years he's one of my oldest friends from 6 years old, I haven't seen him in 7 years and hes apparently gotten involved in conspiracy theory, nazism and Alex Jones and Ron Paul Nazism, what should I do here? should i let it ride or should i get "involved"?
He describes too me his ideology in a blaring voice that shakes the ground beneath your feet, he claims too love Marcus Garvey, but he strangely mixes in nazi racial science, hes a large man standing at over 6 feet tall and 250 lbs but hes always considered me his intellectual superior and will always take my advice over anyone else
If anyone makes an "of mice and men" joke I will hurt you lol
This is something that has bothered me for many years the Ron Paul 3rd party supporters and Alex Jones conspiracy theory followers, polluting the airways with their neo nazi science
How do I convince my friend to stop listening to the daily updates of Alex Jones and his neo Nazi conspiracy theorist Jew hating clan?

I don't think you should throw around the word 'neo-nazi', it devalues the term.
As for advice, you can't really affect paradigm shifts by just providing arguments, it has to 'come from within'. But you can plant the seed by, I don't know, linking to the many many many failed predictions of Alex Jones underscoring that he may be figuratively or literally insane.

well he's not crazy he's just dumb, i think his older brother is the one influencing him with this shit, his brother has a double masters degree in engineering took over 10 years of college but he works as a cashier in an african cultural store???? I don't know if he's a rastafarian or african nationalist or what? but my friend who i have known since childhood starts ranting about gays and jews and immigrants, i smack him in the face and tell him he's a fucking second generation fucking immigrant in america, but to no avail
I just dont know what too say other than "hey research communism bucko", I find it kinda hard to lecture about marxism when someone is screaming shit about immigrants

Is he an actual Nazi or is he just anti-Semitic? I am sort of surprised that a black fan of Alex Jones or Ron Paul would be an outright Nazi. Jones and Paul always struck me more as right-libertarian, patriot/militiamen types. There is some overlap with neo-Nazis but I would never think a black person would make that leap.

I know a guy like this, I made a post about it in the Anti-Fascism section. Basically these gets start to get into politics and read about it on /pol/ on 4chan. They learn about a mix of radical stuff in general from Neo-Nazism to Libertarianism to just plain right wing crap. Eventually they come out a nipster. They act normal and do normal kid stuff but when they open their mouth shit like "niggers are the kikes like my parents are bad and so is Obama" just bullshit. Eventually they will grow out of it when they actually read a book, this will probably happen in college. They say it is pretty easy to end someones neo nazism usually it happens not when someone convinces them otherwise but usually when something happens like a black guy is nice to them.

Yeah, is your friend really a Nazi?
Marcus Garvey was an anti-semite; there are today still a good number of anti-semite black nationalists. Remember the fallout over Professor Griff of Public Enemy?
There have got to be some good Marxist critiques of black nationalism, I just don't know

It's almost impossible to argue with conspiracy theorists because, like fundamentalist Christians, they have an automatic response to any evidence you present them.
In the same way that fundies will tell you that fossils were made by satan to tempt you into disbelieving the bible, a conspiracy theorist will tell you that any evidence you have to debunk their claims was fabricated by the illuminati, the Jews, or the lizards or whoever.
I mean, with other people, you can ask them for evidence of their claims. Conspiracy theorists pride themselves on having none.
I know this from experience; I've had a couple of acquaintances who were conspiracy buffs. One guy was telling me that every major historian is a Jewish illuminati member who literally makes things up, and that I should stop "worshipping the written word."
One thing about conspiracy theorists is that they tend to be right about a few things in a "broken-clock" kind of way. The guy I mention above had a pretty sophisticated and correct view on American foreign policy, for example (well, besides blaming it on the illuminati, of course). The only way to influence him was to encourage and support the things he was right about while refusing to acknowledge the bullshit.
It sounds like your friend probably has some correct insights about the history of racism in America, for example. Show your approval for this, and encourage him to pursue his interest in it further.
And by all means, send him Sasha's link. It's an excellent piece.

not really, im exaggerating, tim was right by saying i shouldn't throw around the word "nazi" i meant "anti semite conspiracy theorists right winger with extremist opinions about racial science and immigrants" hes not exactly goosestepping (yet) or about to get a swastika tat, but still
Is marcus garvey truly an "anti semite" if you asked me to speak publicly about the isreali government today, I might sound like an anti semite to some, but I'm not. Did he really say anything about hating jews because of their religion or ethnicity in particular?
but anyway, ron paul is a nazi there is no debate about that, right?
