I'm going to catch hell for this, but I think it's about 80% accurate, overall. A good list, as lists go.

I wish I could comment but I haven't heard like 90% of those songs.

Man this guy seems to hate Lynyrd Skynyrd, who rock...
this guy doesnt know shit by the sounds of it, the fact that Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd is in the list is proof of this....

I don't like at least half of the songs/artists, probably more. I also think guitar solos are generally overrated and should be kept short if done at all.
I mean seriously how can you argue him dissing Styx, Boston, 38 special and all that other cheesey, lame ass 80's rock.
And Lynrd Skynrd were nothing but a bunch of stupid dumb rednecks, fuck them and their confederate flag bullshit. Freebird is a bOOOOORing song.

I take issue with this. Not because you hate Skynyrd, I don't give a shit about that. I would much rather see a confederate flag than an American one. I respect the Confederacy much more than I do the invading north. Lincoln didn't free the slaves because he wanted to, he did it as a political tactic. The South would have freed them as well, the times demanded it. The North invaded for profit, it had nothing to do with slaves.

And I highly resent your use of the word "redneck" in an extremely demeaning way!
Styx is a pretty good band, I think. Boston is mediocre, not so great.
And Lynyrd Skynyrd rock! A lot their music may not have been the most musicaly beautiful, but they had some rockin' tunes! Freebird is a great song! And the lyrics are very revolutionary!

Thank you for the history lesson. I'm well aware of Lincoln's reasons for freeing the slaves. The fact is no matter what his motives were he still did it, Jefferson Davis didn't. The south would have freed the slaves eventually sure there was no way around it. Just like they couldn't have separate water fountains, bathrooms etc forever. However the south was fighting for among other things, to keep slavery going as long as they could get away with it. You say the North "invaded" for profit, well I don't agree with the term invasion, but are you saying that the CSA was not set up for profit?
And make no mistake that stupid stars n' bars flag is seen as an insult to many the same way the nazi flag is seen as an insult.
But this is a whole other discussion.

Is there any other way to use the term redneck? I've never used as a term of endearment. Perhaps you were being facetious?
Styx... Mr Robot, Renegade (thankfully I'm forgetting any other songs) ummmm no.
Boston, mediocre, that's quite a compliment actually.
And those southern yahoos well I've already expressed my deep regard for them. At least you didn't throw in Molly Hatchet.

I regret the use of the term "redneck" in any context!
It's elitist and I'd appreciate it if you realized that.

I think they were fighting for their right to decide their destinies. I think they were fighting to govern their own affairs and decide for themselves how they lived.
Neither side was admirable, but I think the North was motivated by greed.

the south was feeling like it was caving in because the northern industries were turning to the west for cheap resources. the south was afraid of the economic loss. the northern workers were pissed off because when blacks ran away to the north, bosses hired them because they'd work for lower wages. the southern elite was feeling tremendous vulnerability and decided to secede. emancipating the slaves was indeed a purely political tactic and most slaves weren't even free when it happened, only years after were they released. the way i see it, everyone was had except for northern industry.

You know....I was pretty close to agreeing with this guy on all of it, until I got to his ripping of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Now I'm convinced the dude's just crazier than a shithouse rat.

well, i agreed with some of the list, well, most of it actually, but the ripping of Zappa, Floyd, ten years after, Stevie ray vaughn, and Frampton really got under my skin! Perhaps I'm alone here, but I liked frampton's song "do you feel like I do" but not strictly for the guitar talking part; there is a good solo following that part. I do think that lots of the songs on that list were just there so the writer could act pompous and piss people off. oh well, each to their own i guess.

Umm, I think not. You don't have to value my opinion as I surely won't values yours but that won't keep me from giving my opinion ust as you will no doubt keep giving yours.
