Like most of us on this sad floating mattress, I've been wanting to get involved in some real life action. About two-years ago I discovered the concept of an anarchist free-store, and I wanted to start one of my own. I knew I wouldn't get a building, but I hoped for even a nice light table and a gym bag full of donated goodies. Unfortunately, back then I neither had nor could I afford those things. Also I don't think the bus driver would've been to happy if I tried to get in with a table, no matter how small, or how light.

Fast-forward to now times! I got two (technically three) jobs! A used sedan! A heart full of compassion for the struggling neighbors! And a comfortable amount of money in the bank! Table and gym bag sounds nice but Sedan with a full back-seat, canopy, and two fold out light weight tables are even better! Not to mention I got some literature to hand-out.

Why am I telling all you this? Well, I still need tips. First, currently I am doing this alone. Which I'm prepared for, but some help would be nice. Second, I have no place to set up yet. I live in San Jose California. Big city, not to much radical activity, which is part of my reason for doing this. Also an increasing problem with displaced people (http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2014/12/09/home-d09.html), and a rising poverty level (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/10/silicon-valley-poverty_n_2849285.html) makes this a convenient project for my suffering homies. Basically, I also want to know about the regulations that come with setting up in parks and what not. If parks ain't accessible, some alternatives maybe? I contacted my local Food Not Bombs but it's been hard trying to find them. Went to their web-posted location today and I didn't see them. Now I'm not sure what time or day they set-up on, but I'm still hoping I can set up beside them. Last but not least, literature is expensive, in terms of books, to order. I ordered multiple copies of 10 different works from black powder press for pretty cheap. I'm just wondering if there's any anarchist fliers/quick reads that I can download for free to print and make copies of them. I'm working on my own fliers but those are mostly to lead people to the store and help them get involved and what-not. I'm looking for anarchist fliers, of diverse tendencies, that explain ideas or concepts simply. Like fliers about cops, fliers about poverty, fliers about rebellion, ect...

Anyways, thanks for reading this long ass post. I plan to make a facebook page within this upcoming week, I'll let ya'll know when it's 'launched'. Hope ya'll can help me. Let me know if you're in the area and want to get involved (for some reason, damn living in the southbay and not contacting me ). Cheers and have a good one!
