I am currently seeking advice om , as the title suggests, dropping everything in my life to do something very different.

I am currently in a situation where I am part way in a commitment to something that feels much less important now than when I orginially got myslef involved in it. By dropping it I would have to get past issues with my parents having fronted the and if I don't do something to stop this soon they will much more financially invested than they already are.

What I will do instead would require me to break contact with family and friends essentially entirely. Perhaps someone here might have some insight into how to go about this as diplomatically as possible.

Perhaps a rest outside family will help you. I'd go far away and rest and think about own life and after then to make decisions.

Your post is way too vague. What are your interests, what resources do you have at your disposal, how limited are you as far as mobility, etc.
