That's very true. We've all seen the outcomes of those 'peace' sittings that end in tear gas, bruises, nightsticks, rubber bullets, arrests, and needless police violence. I was actually watching that COPS show and on it they had a call that there was a peaceful sitdown somewhere and they actually organized this huge riot party and went there and started macing people. I'm suprised they have the balls to show that on tv. And another thing, why do they put locks on their lockers if they're in a police station? :)

I finally got my hands on Homage to Catalonia and in it Orwell states that the police will always be enemies of the people.

And I think freedom of speech (or the American practice of it) is overrated. It's used to defend the country against all arguments but, as the Manics sing, "freedom of speech won't feed my children."
