So, guys, as you know ISIS is pretty bad and as you may also know a lot of peoples are being killed by them. I have this charity I am pushing, don't be mean, but, I bought this pin, it is 5 dollars, the shipping is about 6, so 11 bucks, not only can you show solidarity and help being more awareness but all proceeds go directly to refugees in effected areas. Yes, this is a religious charity, if you are not mature enough to handle that then please go to another thread. I am not pushing this for personal gain or to recruit anyone, but just to help give immediate aid to the innocents. This is personal and it would also be appreciated if you people would not poke fun either.

Yes, of course, because we all know that the status quo is for mature adults and communists are just rebellious children who like to debate but when we step in the real world we need to be mature, "respect" the "adults" and forget all that because it's just a game anyway. What a deeply disgusting statement.

If you don't want this kind of commentary then don't ask for it. You could as well have said "this is a religious charity and if you are critical of that I respect your thoughts but I am not trying to promote religion here, just help these people".

If my pre-emptive pissiness has offended you I'm sorry and tbh, this is a fairly serious thing and connection to some organization which is connected toward what I'm assuming is your 'man-in-the-sky' perception shouldn't really matter if at the end of the day aid is being given. Didn't comrade Stalin say the ends justify the means? Lol

Are there any worthwhile secular charities one could support instead? Is there any reason to believe that this particular charity is less corrupt and more credible than other charities? Does this charity organization only help Christians or other oppressed people in the region as well (Yazidis, Shiites etc.)?

i disagree with the bullshit that you've gotten for this thread, but giving my money to a charity that gives it away in the name of something i don't believe in isn't something i'm very cool with. it really does matter because the only function of charity for the giver is the translation of money earned through labor into catharsis for our sympathy. if, instead, that labor value is being transmitted into a false message that we believe misleads people, we are not only working for less than what we deserve, but there is no catharsis and instead just more guilt from the fact that we're promoting something we hate with the product of our work. we already have to promote capitalism - which we hate - just by working in the first place. this is essentially no different. if you want to get communists to support charity, the only way you'll ever do that is by giving up the religious aspect and instead using it to support what we believe. if it isn't such a big deal, then it shouldn't bother you to make it secular. but it does, and that's why you didn't. and that's also why nobody here wanted to give to it. you're not any better than we are, yet you're acting like you are, and we can see right through it, and that's why you got the hostility you knew was coming.
