On April 01, 2015 the Iranian state news agency "Ilna" reported that five Iranian mining workers were convicted due to an indictment of their employer to prison and lashes.

The reason for the prosecution was the joining of the workers on strike and the protests of the past year. The prosecution was directed simultaneously against another 25 workers who were, however, acquitted.

The workers of the iron mines in the region Chadormalu have repeatedly gone on strike in the last two years. The workers are demanding, the return of the dismissed employee representative to his workplace, an increase in surcharges and the implementation of occupational classification. Thousands of workers participated in the strike.

This is not the first time that labour activists are sentenced to imprisonment or lashes. The condemnation of petrochemical workers in 2013, the Department of Transportation of the oil refinery in Abadan, the iron mine "Bafgh" and others, are examples of this repressive approach.

Since taking power the Islamic government has attacked workers' rights in favor of capitalists and suppresses workers struggles. This policy was intensified during the tenure of Rohani. Rohani has named Mr. Ali Rabiei, who worked in the past for the Iranian security service, as Minister of Labour. Since then, the capitalist-Islamic regime is more brutal in its actions against the workers.

Organization Fadaian (aghaliat) condemns the repressive measures of the reactionary Islamic government against the workers and calls for an immediate and unconditional release of the detained workers.

We insist that the right to strike is a natural and basic right and support the demands of the workers.

Down with the Islamic government- long live the workers councils!
Long live freedom! - Long live socialism!

Can you tell me more about Fadaian? A google search leads me to a wiki-page of a centre-left split from Tudeh. I doubt such a group would call for workers' councils and socialism.

EDIT: ah, it says it has ties to various Stalinist groups, so it's probably not centre-left as wikipedia says.

EDIT II: maybe it's about the minority Fadaian?

There are several Fadaian organizations in Iran. they have roots on Organization of People's Fadai Guerillas. in 1980 there was a split. "Majority" supported the islamists while "Minority" opposed them. "Majority" (along with Tudeh party) collaborated with islamists in order to suppress the opposition (including communists) but at the end, itself became a victim of islamists suppression. "Minority" (which this leaflet is written by it) has continued the communist line. other Fadaian organizations are close to one of these major Factions. there is also a small anarchist group which still upholds the guerilla line (armed struggle without the masses) which the original organization once used to provoke people, but abandoned it when history demanded different tasks. but its a windbag and no one takes it seriously.

here is the English page of Organization of Fadaian (Minority):
