Just figured I'd start an offshoot of the "Dumb Stuff Liberals say to Radicals" thread for all the dumb things Libertarian/"Anarcho" Capitalists say to radicals.
And... Go.

"How are hedge fund managers society's lottery winners?" Implying that they aren't born into families of a socioeconomic class affording greater opportunities for education, networking, and work. Also implying that even if they weren't privileged in such a manner, they "earned" every penny they've gotten by being hedge-fund managers.

That any working person can save up their money and become a successful capitalist and that the only reason most workers do not save is because they are morally bankrupt and profligate.
Because your average worker does not have to eat, wear clothes, make rent/mortgage payments, make car payments (often a necessity and not a luxury where public transportation is inadequate or nonexistent), or even pay for the occasional form of entertainment.
I know, workers should never get any joy out of their lives, how dare they, now go wear sackcloth and eat ashes so you can save up and become the next Bill Gates!

The fetishism with the word "liberty" to the point that it becomes so abstract that "letting" 8 year olds work in a factory and flying 50 flags outside your home are both examples of "maximizing freedom and liberty".

Anything to do with the Non-Aggression Principle. Or the "when you do it, it's aggression, but when I do it, it's liberty" principle.

I feel like this topic has kind of been done to death in the US, since libertarianism/anarcho-capitalism is so big right now. I feel like basically every leftist in the US has already heard all of the ancap buzz phrases and knows how ridiculous they are.
The entire foundation of anarcho-capitalism is that it is possible to have a successful system in which capitalism is left entirely unrestrained by government. I mean, the stupidity is pretty much obligatory there. So call me a wet-blanket, but because stupidity is such an inherent part of anarcho-capitalism, this thread doesn't really have any humor for me. At least in the liberal thread the answers can be somewhat clever.
This is like a "Dumb things dumb people say" thread... It doesn't have any bite, because we already know the people are dumb.

Even the *system itself* is smarter than its ideological proponents (the laissez-faire capitalists), as we saw with the 2008 bailout of the banking sector, by the U.S. government -- the hard-liners were even *saying* that the banks should be left to their own market failures, but the state stepped in and used $700 billion in public funds to stop the financial hemorrhaging -- thus 'too big to fail' as a bourgeois-capitalist operational truism, and history.

Capitalism without government is the perfect system. When you ask them who would build even the most basic infrastructure they barely have a answer for it beyond everyone could build their own which makes no sense.
Even if it could work which it couldn't i imagine it would end up looking like a combination of Feudalism with some elements of Fascism as it would make all but the very rich complete wage slaves.

"Job-Creators"...who literally remove downsize and dismantle jobs.:glare:
"Capitalism makes these cool cars and so on."
Yeah we used to make stuff in America...but since we beat the Russians, not anymore
"Maybe some shit about Soviet Russian Social-Imperialism, blah blah blah like it's 1979"
At least these Libertarians/Ancaps agree on opposing the post-Cold War Military Stuff of the Neocons.
Now talking to Neocons or FASCISTS...is something else:ohmy:

Meh...depending on how this is asked, we won't get anywhere by faulting people in a capitalist society for genuine ignorance.

True that. I have met so called American Libertarians who had no idea that most of Libertarian ideology is actually from the far left and only in America and Canada does it have a right wing meaning. How ignorant some of them are is more then abit scary really.

I don't see the point to another thread. Libertarians and "ancaps" are liberals in the historical sense of the word.

True that. They do come from that godforsaken Austrian school of thought which is barely readable. Actually i tried to read some of it once but i damn near tossed the laptop through the window after a few chapters.
Right wing Liberals would be a more fitting term for Right Libertarians and Ancaps i think.

Yeah, I'm tired of the right being allowed to hijack and abuse the terms "anarchist" and "libertarian".
