Do any of you guys still have dreams about being back in High School?

I'm almost 30 years old, and yet at least once a week I dream that I'm back in High School and having to deal with all of that bullshit all over again.

Yeah, but I'm only 3-4 years removed from high school

Not really about high school, but I have dreams about being back in college all the time. They usually involve me running late for class and lost in an unfamiliar hallway or behind on a bunch of assignments or something.

I am about a year out of high school, and I don't. But I dream about work frequently.

I used to wake up randomly like at 3 in the morning, worried that I'd be in trouble for sleeping on the job. Also some high school, like graduation time. Usually me failing out. But yeah, I'm almost a year removed.

Not only that, long after being out of high school, but naked too! What the fuck does that mean?

Naked in school is a classic.

Yeah, me too. But why is it high school specifically? Not at grade school, not at my last job? Do people who went to a university years ago have recurring dreams about that? It seems like not.

Is it related to puberty? Is it something about the unique social structure of high school?

I think it's because of the extreme importance that American culture puts on the high school experience. It's this odd combination of 'these are the best years of your life' coupled with 'if you fail here, you'll fail for life'. That's an awful lot of pressure for a teenager, and that shit tends to stay with you for life.

Haha yes I had a dream like this a few days ago and it's been 13 years. That was a traumatic time for me at home and school presented this bizarre alternate reality filled with carefree 2 dimensional sitcom characters who I was intensely jealous of. Everytime I wake up im so pleased to find it was just a dream.

Not American, but I do have dreams about high school occasionally. Left high school 3 years ago. The last dream I vaguely remember set in high school didn't have my high school classmates but people I'm currently in university in. First hit on google makes sense: http://www.dreaminginterpretation.com/why-do-i-dream-of-being-back-in-school/

I'm a week short of 29. No high school dreams. Dreams about being a space-mechanic though, which is a bit weird.

I dream about work more frequently than school, but I still dream about school. I left around 6 years ago.

I'm not even in my dreams half the time. I blame psychedelics.

Same. Most of my dreams are a mesh of concepts and archetypes being realized. I'm rarely in it, and when I am, I am not myself but represented in someone else.

Actually, every person in my dream doesn't look like who they are supposed to be.

Isn't that the weird part, sometimes we dream about people that do not have the same faces but are the same people. Like in Wizard of Oz when Dorothy wakes up she tells everybody there "you were there but you were a lion," etc. I know in my dream I'm at my high school even though my high school isn't next to a taco bell and doesn't have an indoor pool yet I know it as my high school, it's crazy.

I don't remember the last time I dreamt but I do often have dreams with people in them I went to high school with and I'm always surprised to see them.

I only really have two recurring dreams. One is where I can fly by moving my arms up and down, I don't ever do much just fly up and hang around. The other is that I'm at secondary school (high school) and am getting to the end of my A levels and haven't read the books for my English Literature class. I left secondary school 9 year ago.

I think both of these are pretty standard types of recurring dream.

When I was younger I dreamt that I could squish people with my fingers like as if they were small and I was big except instead of being small they were far away.

Just smoke some weed and the dreams will piss off (ie high school, and being naked, etc).

Though, when you lay off the weed, it's like being in fucking dreamland...

I can't be the only one who dreamt about becoming a Super Saiyan, right?

I mean, middle school classes were fucking boring, out of nowhere my hair turns blonde and I blast the teacher with a kamehameha or some shit.

Super intense dreaming is literally the only reason that I still take trazodone occasionally...the dreams on that crap are insane, incredibly vivid.
