Music section is pretty dead now it seems. Probably because there hasn't been a screamo thread in a while. I'd say about 50% of my posts under my old account (Apoi_Viitor) were about my love for the almighty Daitro.

So yeh post your favorite artists or something. Or just post more Daitro songs.

I mean yes. The term screamo is applied pretty liberally and is usually used to describe everything from Saetia to The Used. Some people use the joke term "Skramz" to describe the diy / underground scene but I'm not really into the whole "real vs. fake" debates that usually plague the punk/metal scene.

Since you like metal then maybe Celeste. They are basically a shit ton of genres (screamo, black metal, sludge, etc.) lumped together.

the venue i work at has lots of emo/screamo/metalcore bands all the time, i really dont like the "emo" style of singing but, even though i'm an oldschool HC/punk/trash metal fan, i came to appreciate many of the modern metalcore and screamo bands.

its a shame because a band like Stick To Your Guns i like because of the politics and the guitar work but they are just to emo for me when it comes to the vocals.

but from the bands that play my work regularly i really loved Architects (political metalcore), I Wrestled a Bear Once (think Bjork if she made metalcore/screamo/noise) and Every Time I Die.

other cool bands i have seen where Bring Me The Horizon, The Ghost Inside and Whitechapel from the top of my head.

I thought emo died out in 2008-2009.

I listen to The Saddest Landscape, Touché Amoré, Make Do And Mend every now and then. It's pure emotional made into music, especially The Saddest Landscape. I love them.

I was actually going to go to that tour but it was too pricey for me. I saw Touche Amore live once though. They were pretty good but by the end of the show my glasses were broken and I was missing a shoe.

Edit: That was also the second time I lost a shoe at a show that Tigers Jaw played.

Was going to post this in the what are you listening to thread but whatever. I know Invader Zim hasn't posted in this thread yet and I refuse to let this die until he posts.

Assuming traditionally labeled "emo" music works, I very much like Jawbreaker. Though they were a punk band, their style put together emo as a subgenre.

I'm old, so to me emo still means Rites of Spring, early Fugazi, basically DC revolution summer stuff. In the early-to-mid mid-'90s I liked some stuff that might be proto-screamo like Angel Hair, Heroin, Mohinder, 1.6 Band, Born Against. I gave up when stuff like the Promise Ring and At the Drive-In started existing.

I told myself I'd never see another Tigers Jaw show again but they are playing with Yellowcard and New Found Glory...
