I am looking for the most objective account of workers' control in Leninist Russia possible. Not the anarchist/ultra left perspective of Lenin the evil authoritarian dictator and not the Bolshevik accounts of Lenin the greatest Marxist to ever live. I am looking for an account that explains accurately the role of the soviets in post-revolutionary Russia. Did Bolshevism hinder these institutions? How effective was democratic centralism in exercising the political will of the working class? I am looking for an address of questions such as these.
